Ways to Make Your Home Guest Friendly

East, West, Home’s Best. This is quite the truth. People who come home from a holiday often say that the first night back, sleeping in their own bed is a great feeling. As life begins to return to a modicum of ‘normal’, Airbnb owners are reopening their spaces to travellers. In today’s blog, we’re going to look at ways to make your home guest friendly.

Sanitary Space

Covid-19 is far from being over, but life must go on. One way you can make your home more attractive to guests is to maintain a high level of cleanliness. While it may not be necessary to launder the bedding daily, servicing the room is imperative. You need not leave the space smelling like a hospital; there are excellent alcohol-based, scented cleaning agents on the market which will ensure safety, without a clinical assault on your nose. Another personal touch would be to decant hand sanitiser into small, pocket-sized bottles for your guests to use while in the room, or take with them when they go sightseeing.

Privacy

Familial guests may enjoy sharing a home with their hosts, and closing their bedroom door may afford them a sufficient level of privacy with which they are comfortable. Paying guests, on the other hand, are likely to want something more. A particularly successful way to achieve this is to install an aesthetically-pleasing outbuilding in your garden. This not only increases the value of your property but allows your guests to enjoy their time as they see fit, without interrupting your family’s routine. There are many excellently crafted log cabins available to fit any space, without breaking the bank.

View

Not all homes can have a sea or mountain view, but you can still create a view for your guests by having their quarters overlooking a portion of your garden. It need not be a spectacular array of colour; a well-tended green lawn is enough to induce a feeling of calm and tranquillity. If you are fortunate enough to have a blossoming garden, you could pick some flowers from it to put in the guest room.

Quality Furnishings and Accessories

If your Airbnb is a self-catering unit, ensure that you have the best linens, furnishings, crockery, and glassware that you can afford. When people are on holiday, they want to feel like they are being spoilt with some form of luxury. Always check that there are full sets of items, because having mismatched numbers or designs may create the impression with your visitors that you haven’t taken much care in creating a proper guest space for them.

Visitors’ Guides

Often tourists visiting a new town are keen to spend time enjoying pastimes in the area. One way you can assist your guests with information, aside from sharing your own individual experiences, is to provide a book or folder of things to do in the area. You can add value By making bookings for activities on behalf of your guests.

Voltage Converting Adaptors

For visitors coming from a country like the United States, the voltage of small appliances such as hairdryers, differs from that of the UK. Having a voltage converting adaptor in your guest room is an easy way for them to utilise their own electrical items without having to go to the expense of purchasing an expensive plug they may never use again.

These few guidelines should be sufficient to get you started with creating a room that will have visitors returning to enjoy a space where they feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed.
